Wont pay even total bill after claim approved.

As a repair shop we had a approved claim (that we had to discount to get approved) then they would not pay agreed total after repairs completed. Payment approval 3 days later minus deductable. Did not inform us of a customer deductable until after car was complete and delivered. Called and tried to get this issue corrected. INDS listened to phone calls to verify what was said back and forth and still refused the total agreed upon. When asked to hear to conversation, the rersponse was "NO absolutly not, that is private." Will not deal with again. These guys are crooks.

An oil leak is not covered under warranty?

stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full

I would give zero stars if it was possible. I have a BMW F800GS, with an extended warranty provided by Interstate National Dealer Services.

The bike has an oil leak out of the valve cover, oil is running down the side of the motor, and they said that it was not covered under warranty. The bike is unrideable, yet they said it's not a "failure" so it wont be covered under the extended warranty. The bike has less then 9,000 miles on it. Yet apparently according to them oil leaking out of the valve cover and running down the side of the motor is entirely normal.

I spoke with the local dealership, and they said that it will continue to leak, and likely get worse. I asked the person I called at INDS (I refuse to call them a customer service person, because they have zero interest in actual customer service) if they could authorize the service, and they said they could not, so I asked to speak to someone who could, and their reply was that no one could. Apparently, according to him, not one single person in the entire company could authorize the service.

So not only do they think that an oil leak is perfectly normal, they also lie to their customers. Don't waste your money on an extended warranty, it's a scam, and a waste, because it doesn't actually cover anything.

Strange Rep

I called INDS (from a mailer they sent) about a warrantee for our 2007 Denali. When I told the svc rep I would call my husband and tell him about this great deal I was being offered, the svc rep got sooo STRANGE and was adamantly saying "just put me on hold" and "I'll wait while you talk to him" and "can I just call him while I have you on hold and talk with him?" . After explaining my husband cannot just take calls from anyone, he proceeded to say "But your car has over 100,000 miles on it" (he said this more than 3 times!!!)....ummm, What does that have to do with hanging up the phone to call him back?? Everytime I hesitated, he started knocking the price down JUST so I would make a payment right then and THERE. It was truly, truly unsettling. No thank you INDS

Received in the Mail ~ “Request for Action”

Received a very professional mailing for Vehicle Protection. Called them for additional info for coverage of my 2011 Toyo Camry with 61K miles, After my prompting they told me they were part of INDS and wanted to help me with vehicle protection because they know my car is ready for major repairs. Spoke with 3 Reps and full protection pricing went from $395 to $150 a month. Told them first I wanted to go online to visit their website and view the consumer reviews. They kept pressuring me for my VISA card, once enrolled I could cancel later. Did not enroll, Don’t Fall for the sales pressure, bunch of thieves without consciences, please read the reviews and don’t fall for this scam…..

Similar experience

I had 2 issues with my RV. The backup camera system (wired) did not work. Dealer told me Interstate would not pay to repair, but did agree to pay for 2 hours labor and an allowance to a wireless system. We only had the unit 15 days. Pushed the dealer to pay for 1/2 of the camera. Got past that.

Now another problem with the fuel delivery system. Interstate again only agree to opay 2 hours labor and told the authorized dealer they would only pay $105 per hour (not their $117 per hour rate). The dealer had to spend 2 hours on the phone with them convincing them the pressure sensor needed replace and then the exhaust break was seized up and had the same experience again.

They also do not pay anything for diagnostics .... beware of that one as it can be several hundred dollars.

All Interstate extended warranty owners should ban together a file some kind of action. We purchased a Class-A Motor Home and paid $6,050 for this service, and as of today, you have to fight this company everyday all day if you want a claim filed. All you have to do is look at BBB for interstate at the Atlanta BBB.

Rude on the phone trying to sell the extended warranty.

Asked several questions because that what I do and in the end the Finance officer which was the third guy I talked to and the only one that I could understand I might add ended the conversation with your broke you probably would not be able to pay today anyway good bye. All I argued was I needed to talk to my wife before I made any decisions and they got mad.

Seem off they called me and they are the one that hung up.

Guess I didn't need the warranty anyway. after reading other reviews I would say they did me a favor by hanging up.

Wont pay for altenator that is covered

Didn’t call the company first before towing and repairing the vehicle, must have been in the fine print. I repaired the car with my own money with a registered repair facility, sent in receipts, called for reimbursement, DENIED! Called to get clarity, got the most un-empathic customer service imaginable. Just sounded like they didn’t give a *** To be honest, as a consumer, we all can’t read the fine print for everything in our lives, but come on, this could have been fixed quite easily. Still can’t get over the terrible customer service, that bugged me the most, more than the reimbursement.

Same here but called them to dealership. Denying my claim transmission so no idea how much...thank you.

Would you have your house fixed if it suffered a loss without calling your insurance company? How about your car if it was involved in an accident?

Don't play the "I didn't read the fine print" card. We all know that if you want someone else to pay, you kind of have to inform them so that they can do their job to see if they have liability. Now, they can't just blanket deny your claim. Insurance adjudication law states that they can only deny your coverage if their inability to be involved in the original repair prejudiced the situation.

So, if they were unable to verify any part of the failure such as the cause of failure, they have a right to deny coverage. Please read your exclusions section and Guide to filing a claim.

They pay only the part they want to pay and cite exceptions not contained in the contract language

I recently had a failure of my roof top air conditioner on my RV. I took it to the local Tiffin dealer.

I asked them to work with Interstate Star RV on the claim. Interstate would only cover the cost of the air conditioner and 2 hours labor for the repair, but not at the dealer's rate per hour. They did not authorize labor for diagnostics of the issue at all. Then, they would not pay the sales tax for the parts claiming they have a "resale" agreement and do not have to pay sales tax in the state of Florida.

My contract has language to the effect they will pay sales tax. I protested to Interstate Star RV and they cited they have paperwork that says if there is a resale receipt, they do not have to pay sales tax. That is not in my contract; my contract says they will pay sales tax. All this equated to my out of pocket expenses being much more than the $100 deductible identified in my contract.

I am convinced that Interstate Star RV makes up rules to suit their needs and does not communicate this with the policy holders. The wording on my contract acceptance which states "You have made an excellent decision to purchase a comprehensive service contract that offers you peace of mind, security and protection against mechanical failure." What I am finding is that you will never know if they will pay for repairs as the contract states until it is too late.

Major runaround for refund

They said easy refund if needed. After checking with my dealer, my dealer warranty still has a long way to go. Faxes, calls, and certifies letters lead to more runaround. My dealer strongly advised me to get out of the warranty as soon as possible, as they do not have a good record with them. I later received a phone call from them claiming that a refund check was on the way. After two weeks, no check has yet been received. I now firmly believe that I will never receive a check and I am out the full amount. this was nothing but a scam.

The warranty company on 8/6 denied the claim stating there was Excessive carbon build up when there own inspector came out to view the part and stated there is no Excessive there is just normal carbon that matches the millege and year of the car.

So embarrassed this happened to me too. Caddy in the shop now and I know the dealership gonna have a good story to laugh about.

Their policy reminds me of the old health insurance.

Break a bone in the past, well we can't cover muscles and bones because that is pre-existing (wear and tear). So so embarrassed.

Before you purchase an extended warranty and assume everything is covered, READ what is and is not covered. Extended warranties are great, but do not replace the bumper to bumper warranty from the manufacture.

This is neglect on your part as a consumer not the dealer who sold this to you.

High price non-transferrable warranty

I purchased a Kawasaki UTV from a dealership. The vehicle was only 4 months old and the original purchaser had paid over $700. for the extended warranty. I called LongShore Cycle Center in Florence Alabama and was told that the warranty (that they sold) was transferable with a $50.00 fee. I filled the form out and made the check for the fee to Interstate. Six weeks later I received a check for the fee back and told it was non-transferable because a dealership was involved in the transaction. This is a rip off to pay this amount of money for worthless warranty.

Horrible Service and Misleading Contract

We purchased the extended warranty (diamond level) for our vehicle and used it when our car's air conditioner stopped working. We took the car to the dealer (one of the reasons we went with INDS was for this option) who said we needed a new air compressor. Repairing the car took 3 days (when it should have taken one) because we had to wait for them to send an after-market part, which we did not want because of their reputation for poor quality. The part has failed, the car is back in the shop, and we are now on our third day of waiting for the car because INDS had to send someone out to first inspect the part to make sure it was bad (it was), and they will still not approve a new compressor. They will only replace it with another after-market compressor, and we are still waiting for that to be delivered before the dealer can even begin working on the car. They would not approve a loaner while we waited for the "inspection" because a claim couldn't be filed until the inspector verified the part was bad. In addition, they will only deal with the service team--not the customer. I have figured out why: they want to be able to create a "middle man," so they can claim any "misunderstandings" are on the part of the service representative. I have two examples to support this. First, I was trying to find out about getting a loaner vehicle, and INDS was adamant that the service rep. had never called them, when, in fact, she had. I had to get her to call them again, and she said they tried to tell her she hadn't called, when she had phone numbers and contact information for the inspector who was supposed to be on his way (he did not come that day). Second, after sending an e-mail to their corporate office, I received a reply that our service rep. was given the choice of the after-market part or them paying a portion of the new part. They claimed she chose the after-market part. I asked her about this, and she was adamant that no option was ever presented. In addition, my husband called the claims department to express concern over the use of an after-market part, and no one offered that option to him. When we tried to get INDS to pay for a new compressor this time(based on the knowledge from the e-mail), it took forever to get them to even admit that they would do that. Finally, after being placed on hold, I was told they would pay a portion of a new one, but, once again, the service rep. had to place the call), and no one could tell us how much they would pay. Wanting my car back and tired of the runaround, we just went with the second after-market compressor. I am still waiting for my car, and I am quite confident the after-market part will fail again. Do not waste your money with this company--they have horrible customer service and horrible quality with their replacement warranty.

Misinformation about contract

I almost bought a platinum package through Repair Defense Network. I am just very suspicious of high-pressure sales, as I hesitated, the fee was reduced twice up to about 12.5%.

That actually set off the alarm in me. I was told that I could not think about the package, just do it immediately or lose the opportunity. If I paid a deposit of $150, ZI would be mailed the contract and cancel within 30 day for a full refund.

Now looking at the standard conditions, I see that cancellation within the first 30 days is subject to a $50 fee and maybe even a pro-rated adjustment for the perion and mileage! In the meantime, I have now been looking at the complaints on Pissed Consumer, and happy to have escaped.

I am so sick of these JERKS sending me mail. It's an obvious scam.

BBB has nothing but complaints. I think I've had at least 5 similar companies, with similar tactics, send me this wasted paper. It says they got my info from my credit report, but I have a feeling the State RMV or Chevy themselves are selling my info.

I'd like to drive over and cuff these clowns in the head. These are the kind of idiots that push people over the edge.

I too think this outfit is not worth the money they want. The contract is pages long of all the things you can't use it on.

Why have a warranty and it's not good on the item that needs repair???

Also there is a $100.00 deductible that I just found out. Not good!!

Guest

Yeah, "Repair Defense Network" is trying this with me, too. "Final Attempt", "Request for Immediate Action"..

blah blah blah. I bought the factory extended warranty (yeah I know, arguments for both sides of that fence) so I'm quite sure my warranty isn't "about to expire" on my brand new car. The whiskers haven't even worn off the original factory tires yet.

I don't know who's selling car buyer addresses to these scammers but they need to have a few teeth broken. "Anonymous" (surprise?) is obviously one of the scammers.

Why else would you guys print such consisting, official-looking, urgent-sounding brochures/mailings. And I quote, "This letter is to inform you that your factory warrenty may be expired or is about to expire based on time or miles." ***! I have a 2012 Ram 1500, and it only has 12,000 miles on it. How the *** is my warranty about to expire, if I have a three year, 36000 mile bumper to bumper warranty, & a five year 100,000 mile powertrain warranty?

About to expire? I don't think so.... Save your paper, and I'll save mine.

Watch any consumer show, or read any educated article about aftermarket warranties, and you will see it they are all ripoffs! Beware!

Scam Fraud Liars Interstate National Dealer Services

They do everything possible, including encouraging horrible customer service, to frustrate consumers into giving up. They collect your money, but don't actually pay for repairs.

They only pay a partial amount if you fight them for days and days. Customer service actually gets together with supervisors and management to play tricks and make fun of customers. They have no problems making you hold forever, or putting you back into endless loops of recordings, or even transferring you to the wrong company entirely.

They INTENTIONALLY play pranks on customers. They intentionally give you the wrong info, or incomplete info to waste your time and make you give up begging them.
