An oil leak is not covered under warranty?
I would give zero stars if it was possible. I have a BMW F800GS, with an extended warranty provided by Interstate National Dealer Services.
The bike has an oil leak out of the valve cover, oil is running down the side of the motor, and they said that it was not covered under warranty. The bike is unrideable, yet they said it's not a "failure" so it wont be covered under the extended warranty. The bike has less then 9,000 miles on it. Yet apparently according to them oil leaking out of the valve cover and running down the side of the motor is entirely normal.
I spoke with the local dealership, and they said that it will continue to leak, and likely get worse. I asked the person I called at INDS (I refuse to call them a customer service person, because they have zero interest in actual customer service) if they could authorize the service, and they said they could not, so I asked to speak to someone who could, and their reply was that no one could. Apparently, according to him, not one single person in the entire company could authorize the service.
So not only do they think that an oil leak is perfectly normal, they also lie to their customers. Don't waste your money on an extended warranty, it's a scam, and a waste, because it doesn't actually cover anything.
- Poor value
- Dishonest business practices
- Poor customer serivce

Similar experience
I had 2 issues with my RV. The backup camera system (wired) did not work. Dealer told me Interstate would not pay to repair, but did agree to pay for 2 hours labor and an allowance to a wireless system. We only had the unit 15 days. Pushed the dealer to pay for 1/2 of the camera. Got past that.
Now another problem with the fuel delivery system. Interstate again only agree to opay 2 hours labor and told the authorized dealer they would only pay $105 per hour (not their $117 per hour rate). The dealer had to spend 2 hours on the phone with them convincing them the pressure sensor needed replace and then the exhaust break was seized up and had the same experience again.
They also do not pay anything for diagnostics .... beware of that one as it can be several hundred dollars.

Rude on the phone trying to sell the extended warranty.
Asked several questions because that what I do and in the end the Finance officer which was the third guy I talked to and the only one that I could understand I might add ended the conversation with your broke you probably would not be able to pay today anyway good bye. All I argued was I needed to talk to my wife before I made any decisions and they got mad.
Seem off they called me and they are the one that hung up.
Guess I didn't need the warranty anyway. after reading other reviews I would say they did me a favor by hanging up.
Wont pay for altenator that is covered
They pay only the part they want to pay and cite exceptions not contained in the contract language
I recently had a failure of my roof top air conditioner on my RV. I took it to the local Tiffin dealer.
I asked them to work with Interstate Star RV on the claim. Interstate would only cover the cost of the air conditioner and 2 hours labor for the repair, but not at the dealer's rate per hour. They did not authorize labor for diagnostics of the issue at all. Then, they would not pay the sales tax for the parts claiming they have a "resale" agreement and do not have to pay sales tax in the state of Florida.
My contract has language to the effect they will pay sales tax. I protested to Interstate Star RV and they cited they have paperwork that says if there is a resale receipt, they do not have to pay sales tax. That is not in my contract; my contract says they will pay sales tax. All this equated to my out of pocket expenses being much more than the $100 deductible identified in my contract.
I am convinced that Interstate Star RV makes up rules to suit their needs and does not communicate this with the policy holders. The wording on my contract acceptance which states "You have made an excellent decision to purchase a comprehensive service contract that offers you peace of mind, security and protection against mechanical failure." What I am finding is that you will never know if they will pay for repairs as the contract states until it is too late.
Major runaround for refund

AXEL BROKE ON CAR WHILE TRAVELING 70MPH ON INTERSTATE. GUESS WHAT, NOT COVERED!!!!! LEFT STRANDED WITH NO CAR 150 MILES FROM HOME. THEY COULD CARE LESS.
High price non-transferrable warranty
Horrible Service and Misleading Contract
Misinformation about contract
I almost bought a platinum package through Repair Defense Network. I am just very suspicious of high-pressure sales, as I hesitated, the fee was reduced twice up to about 12.5%.
That actually set off the alarm in me. I was told that I could not think about the package, just do it immediately or lose the opportunity. If I paid a deposit of $150, ZI would be mailed the contract and cancel within 30 day for a full refund.
Now looking at the standard conditions, I see that cancellation within the first 30 days is subject to a $50 fee and maybe even a pro-rated adjustment for the perion and mileage! In the meantime, I have now been looking at the complaints on Pissed Consumer, and happy to have escaped.
Scam Fraud Liars Interstate National Dealer Services
They do everything possible, including encouraging horrible customer service, to frustrate consumers into giving up. They collect your money, but don't actually pay for repairs.
They only pay a partial amount if you fight them for days and days. Customer service actually gets together with supervisors and management to play tricks and make fun of customers. They have no problems making you hold forever, or putting you back into endless loops of recordings, or even transferring you to the wrong company entirely.
They INTENTIONALLY play pranks on customers. They intentionally give you the wrong info, or incomplete info to waste your time and make you give up begging them.
